Chris Davies: A Half-Century of High Performance
With a career spanning over 50 years, Chris Davies has been a pillar of the Ontario real estate landscape, blending corporate leadership with an entrepreneurial spirit and a brief, high-octane detour into professional racing.
The Royal LePage Years & Corporate Leadership
Chris entered the industry fresh out of university on March 15, 1976. After a decade of successful sales in Oshawa, he transitioned into leadership with Royal LePage during its pre-franchising era. His knack for management took him from Branch Manager roles in Ajax and Belleville to being appointed Vice President and Regional Manager for RLP Ontario in 1987.
The Need for Speed
In a move that mirrors his fast-paced business style, Chris took a six-year hiatus from real estate to pursue full-time auto racing. While his life shifted to the track, his passion for the property business never wavered, and he always maintained that he would eventually return to the industry he loved.
Entrepreneurship & Keller Williams Energy
Upon his return, Chris provided vital leadership to ReMax Spirit (now ReMax Jazz) for three years before embarking on his most significant venture. On October 27, 2008, he co-founded KW Energy in Whitby alongside his wife, Sue (or work wife Sue Moratz 
). Under his guidance, the business expanded rapidly, acquiring KW Renowned in Oshawa just four months later. Alongside minority owner and lifelong friend Larry Lloyd, Chris built a powerhouse brokerage that remained a fixture of the Durham Region for over a decade.
The Final Lap
Chris officially sold KW Energy to Jamie Lee in July 2021, remaining as the Broker of Record for two years to ensure a smooth transition. In 2023, he officially hung up his license after 50 years and 4 months of service. “The real estate thing worked out.”
Chris leaves behind a legacy of mentorship, growth, and a genuine love for the business. Whether on the ski slopes, the race track, or the closing table, he has remained a true professional who knows exactly when to lead and when to shift gears.
